Rainbows rock on!

I love rainbows. They are so amazing to me every time I see them. What a cool phenomenon…you can explain to me the science of a rainbow to me hundreds of times, but it will still never take away the magic. My eyes are glued to the beautiful translucent colors until the last bit of the rainbow disappears.

It’s awesome to me that God chose an ever-inspiring natural event to be His promise of patience to us. He could have chosen a lightning bolt or a hail storm, but instead he used something that creates child-like wonder in all of us.

Last April, we got to see an amazing double rainbow with our friends Jody and Shane. It was on our left in a wide open field–and for the first time in my life, I saw both ends of the rainbow. We didn’t see any leprechauns or pots of gold, but we did pull over the car, jump out into the rain, and stare in awe. It was an amazing sight, and one that was almost holy. When you see God’s most wonderous creations, you can’t help but feel closer to Him.

I am grateful for this experience. I also love the fact that we got to share with our faith-filled friends who have taught me so much about God and His amazing love and grace.

Check out the rest of the pics from our trip to Chattanooga/North Georgia.

  1. That was pretty amazing, especially that it kinda moved with us. And for once I had the camera in hand this time… Surprising I was able to keep the little bit of rain off the lens to grab the one shot anyway. Sonia, the printouts you made, turned out quite well from http://www.mypublisher.com

  2. Been thinking about you Sonia. It made me happy when I saw the double rainbow pics. :0) HE never forgets and He never fails. His promises & His love endures forever!
